Greetings! Doom has finally arrived and it's time to see what you all think of it!
First, the Doomcrawler from the T.A. Side Challenge at the Book 1 Necropolis has had a new section added. This is an all new setup of challenege mode fights that should put any class through its paces. The higher up on the list the more difficult it WILL get, but each "section" has its own rewards. You can tell which is which because they're grouped by two's. There's a total of 4 shops and each shop has something in it for all the different base classes.
If you like the original Crawler, don't worry! I left that one in so you can always attempt battles against it. Now though you have a true test of the revamped classes that will hopefully keep a few of you occupied for a while. I'm working on something else for the Crawler but it's not really ready yet so this will have to do for now.
Next we have the long awaited DoomKnight revamp. You'll find the skills are quite a bit different so please use the class in all sorts of situations and see how it works. You can't just Life Carve everything anymore, but all your skills now have a use and they all do something interesting!
Please keep all feedback and testing discusion in the appropriate thread. It's located here, CLICK ME! Once you've used the class in game some you can see the stats for it in that thread and figure out more combos, but I really want you to base any feedback off what you can do IN GAME. I can't stress that enough.
For a quick breakdown though I'll give you all this. The main focus of the class is the Corruption skill. It will alter how quite a few of your other skills work AND it provides a nice bonus against all types of enemies. This is primarially how you'll deal with bosses, as most normal mobs won't last outside of Spikes and/or Blood Rite, and will cause you to alter your playstyle some based on what it has done to your foe. Ideally most boss fights should start with you seeing what the enemy type is, considering what skills you have, how they'll be affected by corruption, and how you want to fight the boss. If you don't want to plan your battles out, you don't HAVE to, you still can skill spam and will do just fine, but for those that like planning out how your battles need to go to win the fastest or with the least damage taken, or how best to get around a bosses mechanics, this skill set will give you everything you need.
I hope you enjoy it! Verly is almost done with the bug fixes to Ranger so you should see that and its items live soon!
Creatures of Darkness have begun to feel a change happening. Something is crawling its way back to power and another is being reborn and reshaped into something different. When the sun sets on Friday, prepare for DOOM!
The Doom weapons are some of the most iconic items in DragonFable. As players have grown in power so has the dark and evil power contained within these metal and bone blades.
Many of you use the power of these dark weapons to fight against the monsters and enemies that walk through the world of Lore... but how many of you remember their original art? I came across the originals for the ShadowReaper and Twin Blades today and wanted to share!
Ranger The Ranger update is coming along nicely! Dracelix has been working on the class and it looks amazing! There's still a little work to do but it should be available soon in game!
Friday Danyel has some chores for you and Tomix to do this Friday... I hope you're ready to get dirty in Edelia!
Upon the winds you will find a whisper of doom, "Grimskull is coming." We thought he was just something the Paladins thought up to scare the young Knights in training. The slight possibility he could be real sends a shiver down my spine.
The rumors say Grimskull is coming... but if the stories are true, it will not be this week. It will not be when you expect it. It could happen at any time, any place... all that you know is it WILL HAPPEN. When it does, it will happen in AdventureQuest Worlds.
Here we go... 3 weeks into this DL revamp now and I'm sure glad it's Friday! I spent the better part of the last 2 weeks just on the animations for DL, and then I was fried so I took monday off to go camping with my wife*, and then this week I was like yeah no problem, I'll setup the color custom version of normal dragonlord, and apply the art for evo dragonlord, and setup the cc version version of evo on Tuesday. No problem, cause I can just copy it all over from the originals right?!
Noop! I can't. And so therefore it took way the heck longer than a day, lol. Oh man, I am always doing that to myself... having no concept of how much time something actually might take. So what I did manage to do for this week was setup the color custom DL, and the evolved DL. Those are done, art&animation-wise! And I'm getting close to done on the color custom evolved DL**, but I think that'll have to wait until next week.
Good thing the Dragonlord shields are made out of super lightweight magical metal, or that one arm is going to be HUGE!
So what that means is that all versions except ccEDL will have the new animations, and should be released later tonight. Rol is still typing his fingers off getting all versions of dragonlord buffed and coded properly, so stay tuned because I think he'll be updating that part tonight as well. Whenever it's done though, I'm sure it will be up to snuff. Also tonight we will be releasing Braughlmurk Cape! An epic location that you'll be able to access via the travel gryphon in falconreach with a total of 6, yes you heard me right, 6! random dungeons! Holy Magicarp! Geo's been working ridonkulously hard to bring that to you tonight and I believe you will enjoy the drops... And last but not least we will be launching a new house for dragonlords that Dracelix has been working on, later this weekend! It'll be available in the town of Dragonsgrasp some time Saturday. Wow, that was a lot of info.. I'd better go underline the main points or it'll be hard to skim.
What a psycho week, I'm goin' camping.
* Such a great de-stresser! It's been beautiful here in Eastern Canada, and spending a few nights in a tent breathing the fresh air has been fantastic!
** Let's just call em' DL, ccDL, EDL, and ccEDL from now on. So. Much. Typing.
So many people on soooo many different projects! The DragonFable team is super busy this week!
Braughlmurk Cape The ruins of a once great Paladin order sit on the edge of a foggy beach.... Are you brave enough to explore the fallen towers and murky crypts? Will you venture into one of it's many random dungeons and collect the Braughlmurk Bindings and Shadow Bone Shards left behind from the great battle that destroyed the Cape town? Robin and Roblos are betting you are....
Pictured: Not Robin and Roblos!
MOP Hits Amityvale! Eric Greydawn, the Lady and Chainsword all converged on the office this week and have determined that something... several somethings, are disturbing the wildlife in the woods outside of Amityvale! This week a new random quest will appear on the Amityvale path to help the MOP team clear out those woods!
In other words, Eric now can make random quests! He just laughed evilly when I asked how big the map was going to be....
DragonLord Things Ghost is working on getting the evolved and color custom versions of the DragonLord Armor available for you guys this week! Rolith has also been following the thread about the skills on the forums and will be working on the class on Friday.
Dracelix has also created an amazing new house for DF's birthday that will be available Friday in Dragonsgrasp!
The Iglica - Coming Soon! Tomix is working on the next Atrea expansion! The Iglica (the word for spire in Atealan) towers in the center of Atrea. It houses the throne room of the Atealan Empress and the training rooms for the Atealan classes!
Tomix wanted me to point out the shading is not done yet!
The Iglica will not open this week, but soooooooon!
Tomix is also working on the backgrounds for a very twisted dreamscape. Kathool isn't back... so who's mind (or minds!) are you going to venture into?!
