Did you know there are only 13 days until Lucky Week? That does not seem right somehow, but that's the way the calendar tells it. If calendars could talk. Which they can't.
But yes, 13- THIRTEEN - days until Lucky Week! We've got a prodigious amount of planning to do before we can start implementing ANYTHING. We need a plot and a script (not the same things!) not to mention a design document which will tell the artists what prettypretty arts to art up and which will tell Rolith what codes to download from the inter-matrix.
And once the art, rewards, and code are done, it'll come time for assembly and, after that, testing. Lots and lots of testing, because we're planning on doing something just a little... different... this Lucky Week. In fact, it's SO different that it won't fit into a whole day.
But that's enough teasers about THAT. We wouldn't want to spoil anything for you. If you think hard enough you'll find the answer- like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow- just waiting for you.
So I've got that to plan while Geopetal works on this week's Earth Orb Saga quest. It should be a fun one! Did you guys enjoy last week's quest? I know it got many of you talking and speculating on the forum!
With this quest chain, you should be prepared to deal with unexpected. Do you think Indiana Jones expected that gigantic ball to come rolling down the hall at him? NO! Can you expect any less? NO! So get your Adventuring Hats on (softer and more comfortable than Adventuring Helms, which are hard and metal and hot in the sun) and get ready to get your battl(ing) on!
The whole team is ALSO working on re-vamping Oaklore. Tomix is working on new background art When I say "new" I mean refreshing the old art. We will still have the tree fortress and all of the Pactogonal Knights, but the bushes and trees, etc will look more in line with the background art we produce now, instead of what we were drawing in 2005. Everyone who's seen Tomix's rough drafts so far is really happy with them, and we hope you will be, too!
So Tomix is working on art for Oaklore while Geopetal and I give feedback, Ghost is going to do some superawesome Ghost-scenes (like a cutscene but more OMGWOW) to give new players a taste of what DragonFable has to offer later in the game.
And I am working with Rolith to make things more streamlined and understandable. We'll be adding in an optional tutorial which will explain some things like battling and stats and just what to do with those blue and red bottles by your skill bar. (It's not always as intuitive as you might think, if you're completely new to videogames).
If you guys want to help us out (and we hope you do. You've been awesome with suggestions so far!), then why not create a NEW character and run through Oaklore? Think about things as if you've never played a videogame before. What don't you understand? What could be made clearer?
This will help us make a better introduction to the game, and it will help future DragonFable players have a better experience at the beginning!
PS: We hope you're liking DF's releases! If you have a Facebook account, we'd love it if you'd Like our new Fan Page. You can find it here!
PPS: The SoulWeaver armor and "Weave with me" badge for the Ravenloss Saga have been added to the Quest Log!
PPPS: The Ravenloss War rewards will go rare at the end of this week, so farm away! Everything in the Raveloss War Chest EXCEPT the Judgement Wheel scythes will be going perma-rare, as will the ChaosWeaver Defender and Ravenloss WarMonger scythes.
The Equilibrium Gate Key scythes will NOT be going rare! They are Saga rewards.

It's FRIDAY! And man oh man, are we in a TGIF mood here in the Secret Underground Lab.
We spent part of the morning teaching Beleen to sing ("London Bridges Falling Down" fell flat until we had a voice-box breakthrough) and broke for pizza. Friday is usually pizza day.
A secret project was displayed in the war room, Ai No Miko kept sneezing and Mido played rock and trance music all day... It was a pretty good day, all told.
And, of course, we were working all da- Oh. Did you want me to talk about the release? Was I keeping you waiting? Sooooorry! Just having a bit of fun with you! Here are the release details!
First up is the release we had to delay from last week. That's right, it's En and Tropy time.*
Play AS En and take Tropy along as a DOOM-dealing GUEST OF DESTRUCTION!!1! But oh, you won't be fighting REGULAR monsters. Oh no no no. Opponents like that wouldn't be worthy of Sepulchure's creations. No, YOU will be attempting to sway Gorgok to Sepulchure's side.
Through the VERY persuasive power of battle, of course! I have a hunch that Gorgok might not want to play nice, so you'll have to get your golem gears in motion and see to it that Sepulchure's next move is ready to set into play!
*I sing that to myself to the tune of "Peanutbutter jelly time" and you can, too. Sing out, sing loud. Let yourself go!
And as a SURPRISE release... we have:
- SoulWeaver class for ALL players!
- Aegis, your SoulAlly!
- And Pellow Village is opening!
If you've completed the RavenLoss War, when you enter RavenLoss, you'll see a button which will take you to Pellow Village! Have fun exploring this abandoned (and VERY purple) city! You'll find boarded up shops, weird (but pretty) glowing fungus-lights, and the ??? pet in a clearing next to an ancient golden oak.
In Pellow Village you'll ALSO find Murk and Murk's Pellow Merch merge shop. (Say THAT 10 times fast!) It will offer you the following gear:
- ChaosWeaver High Priest Helm I, II, III, IV
- SoulWeaver Hood I, II, III, IV
- Weaver Wrap-Around I, II, III, IV
The ChaosWeaver Helm will need ChaosWeaver Baubles in order to be created while the SoulWeaver gear will need Shards of the SpiritLoom in order to be created. (WHY Murk wants SpiritLoom Shards, we don't know. And are afraid to ask...)
Talk to Tomix and watch the "Meet Aegis" cutscene in order to find and bond to your SoulAlly. Once you've watched that, head back out to the main screen of RavenLoss and you'll see a button which will let you invite Aegis as a guest! But he'll ONLY agree to come along with you if you have the SoulWeaver Armor equipped. Which brings me to my final point...
Talk to Tomix to begin training as a SoulWeaver! You'll need to give him 3 Shards of the Spirit Loom to unlock the armor, then another Shard for each additional class skill.
You can get Shards of the SpiritLoom by doing any of Tomix's random quests.
We know you've been waiting a LONG time for these releases, and we hope you enjoy playing through them as much as we've enjoyed creating them for you! If you like what you're seeing and playing, then why not head on over to this page and become a DragonLord!
DragonLord members have upgraded one or more times in order to help support the game. We couldn't make it as awesome as we do without your help! (Mostly because we'd be working other jobs. Like straight-flipping copies at Kinko's. Also flipping burgers. But not at Kinko's.)
Again, enjoy the release! Happy Friday!
|February 21, 2011|
If you're in the United States, Happy President's Day! If you're not, then again, let me wish you the most joyous of Mondays and may the rest of your week be merry.
My week WILL be merry! Now that Ravenloss is (mostly) over (apart from getting Pellow Village/SoulWeaver/ and SoulAlly out in the near future), I'm starting a new project. I'm really excited about it, because I think it's going to help improve the gameplay experience for new players AND existing players who want to make new characters.
We're going to go back to Oaklore, fix all the bugs, clean up the old quests, and hopefully get some new art in there to bring it up to the standard that our newer content is at. (We've gotten a LOT better at background and character art since 2005, we think!)
Now, here's where YOU come in!
We need to know the following things:
- What- if anything- do you LIKE about how Oaklore is now?
- What- if anything- do you want to change about how Oaklore is now? (This could be anything from fixing bugs to overall gameplay experience)
- How long did you stay in Oaklore? (What level were you when you arrived in Falcoreach?)
- Did you enjoy your time in Oaklore?
- What would you like to see DIFFERENT about Oaklore?
This project won't be done in a week. Maybe not even two weeks. But we're going to be working on it whie we wait for the final elements of RavenLoss to come together. Also, this week we'll release the En and Tropy Gorgok battle that we didn't put out last week, so you'll have that to look forward to!
Please help us make Oaklore and the new character starting experience the BEST it can be by sharing your thoughts in THIS thread!

As I write this, the war meter for Greed's side is sitting pretty at roughly 99.5%! You guys are ALMOST done with the rest of the war! And to reward you for all your hard work, we're introducing scythe replicas of the Judgement Wheel halves as soon as the war meter on Greed's side hits 100%.
They'll be sold for Dragon Coins from the War Chest in RavenLoss. They are some of the absolute prettiest weapons we have in-game. DEFINITELY worth your time and DCs to pick up!
So... ready for a peek at the art? I thought so!
Here's the Judgement Wheel: Guilt and below it is the Judgement Wheel: Innocence! I'll be oooh-ing and aaaah-ing; feel free to join in. I won't tell if you do.
And now for some more news on RavenLoss. I've been posting and re-posting this information on the forum all weekend, but I want to share it here for those of you who are not readers of our forum:
We are hard at work getting the art and animation for the Soul-Ally guest, Pellow Village town, and SoulWeaver class done, finished, and put to bed so that we can release it to you with glad hands and a happy heart. (That saying never made any sense to me. What are glad hands?!)
It won't be done this week, but Tomix is pushing his thread-heavy hands to finish the art for you. Once he does, Khelios will code it and I'll put all the pieces together with some more bits of code and tweaking to make it ready for you all to play.
We are sorry that it's not ready for you. We wish it were, because we really, REALLY want to see your reactions to all of it! We will finish them as soon as humanly (or, in Tomix's case, robotically) possible.
In the meantime, please enjoy the Judgement Wheel scythes and have fun continuing to farm the war. The war will be up in its current state until we release SoulWeaver class, Pellow Village, and the Soul-Ally guest.
I got a book. And another book that's waiting for the first book to be finished. So I'm going to go read my book (that I've been waiting EIGHT years for) while Rolith plays with a new toy and makes plans for his newest secret project.
Happy Saturday night!

Where is my one romance? Where is my shiny stun? Where is my happy ending? Where have all the Cherubs go-o-one?
(Aaaah, the Design Notes have been pinkified! Noooooo! This BETTER only be for today, or I'm going to have VERY stern words with Beleen!)
Big Daddy is missing! But that's not the only problem. And if THAT wasn't enough to get your heart pounding, Falconreach is over-run by PINK undead! It's bad enough when they're grey and green and slimey, wandering around going "Arrrrooo?" and trying to kill you.
But now they're pink and slimey, wandering around going "Arrrrooo?" and trying to HUG you. To death.
They might just be trying to squeeze a little extra affection out of you but... I don't think so. Not when something has obviously altered them! But for what purpose? WHO would turn perfectly dreary undead into these pink, affable, very CHEERY undead? It just doesn't make sense!
There has got to be a darker, definitely more nefarious purpose driving events. And it's up to YOU to figure out what's going on AND rescue Big Daddy! Because who is going to sell chocolates, flowers, and heart-shaped boxes to the heroes and heroines of Lore if not that angel-faced, gold-obsessed Cherub? Not Twig, that's for sure! We'd end up with fish-flavored truffles, though heart-shaped scoops of ice-cream would be pretty sweet.
So, for those of you just joining us (Hi! And welcome to DragonFable!) here's how the Hero's Heart Day event will play out:
- Click on the button in Falconreach to go to the Hero's Heart Day storybook.
- Do Chapters 1-3 of the story to unlock this year's chapter, Chapter 4 all while picking up the snazzy seasonal rares from the previous years' shops.
- Once Chapter 4 is unlocked, head to Big Daddy's Pad by clicking on the Chapter 4 button and talk with the NPC you'll see there.
- Give a great big dragon-tastic DragonFable welcome to Beleen, who is visiting from the side-future of AdventureQuest Worlds to help Lola and Missy help polish their FABULOUS knee-high pink boots.
- Talk to the NPC, check out the shops, and make sure to do the quests!
- All the quests in this year's Hero's Heart Day event have a chance to drop the SnuggleBear Helm. If you haven't seen that in action, you'll definitely want to do a couple runs in the hopes of getting it. It's the only armor we have that DANCES!
- While playing the last of the Hero's Heart Day quests, greet Liam-Liam, a very dedicated and vocal member of the DragonFable forums! He doesn't know he's got a part in this Hero's Heart Day! SURPRISE! :D
- Enjoy the LOVE-liest event of the year!
HERO'S HEART DAY CHALLEGE:
I packed as many love song titles parodies into them as I could. I know the exact count. Can you find them all?
PS: Check the Hero's Heart Day 2011 Shop in the Storybook! It's got some FUN new items!
In other news:
The previously-announced Earth Orb Saga quest which was scheduled to release this week has been delayed until next week. Sorry about that, guys!
Next week you should look for a teaser about a thing that someone on the team wants to do in the near future. It will be fun for you and hard work for them, but since we love doing what we do for you, it'll be fun for them, too! So EVERYONE wins!
From all of us to you:
You truly are the hero with a heart of gold and it fills OUR hearts with pride to know that you return each week to see what we have to offer you. So, from the bottom of our hearts (last one, last one, I promise!), Happy Hero's Heart Day! (Even if it IS slightly belated!)
|February 14, 2011|
Happy Hero's Heart Day 2011!
This is the pinkest, heart-iest*, lovingest day of the year, and we want to celebrate it with you! And what better way to do that than with a brand new weapon set? Yay!
Coming later today will be the Poison and Roses weapon set from True Mortal. Be careful how you hold these weapons, because the love these weapons inspire is oh so beautiful, but very, very deadly!
Last week we released the previous years of Hero's Heart Day events, and THIS year's event will go live this Friday!
We know many of you are expecting 1) a war and 2) Lust from the Ravenloss Saga to be the main villain, but she's run off to who-knows-where. She doesn't want Tomix to find and destroy her! (Would you, if you were a corrupt spirit? I didn't think so.) And since we've JUST come off a huge war (a war we're not even DONE with!), starting another one would be a less-than-great idea. You warmongers need to take a breather! Conserve your strength!
That doesn't mean there won't be a villain this year. It's LORE and a holiday. Of COURSE there's going to be a villain! It'll be someone you recognize, but who hasn't shown their face in a couple of years. Will there be betrayal? Maybe! Tears? Probably! Pink? Most definitely! Happy speculating!
* Yarrrrr, it be Valentine's Day, maties! (Is what pirates say today.)
NEWS FROM RAVENLOSS:
We have some good news and some sub-great news! Which do you want first?
The under-good news? Ok!
We LOVE Hero's Heart Day here on the DF team. And we adore putting out awesome content for the holiday. The holiday that is only one week a year. So if we're going to do something for that holiday, we need to do it NOW. THIS week! So unfortunately we have to delay Pellow Village and the Soul-Ally content until next week.
We are definitely looking forward to releasing all of that, and we know you guys are, too! While we finish working on HHD and the Soul-Ally/Pellow Village content, why don't you guys work on getting the Greed meter up to 100%
Why does that matter? Becacuse of the good news! Cysero has created replicas of the Judgement Wheel from sketches Tomix made! As they are only replicas, they will not grant wishes. But they WILL serve you well in battle! There will be the Judgement Replica: Guilt and the Judgement Replica: Innocence. And since it's Cysero who made them, they'll be selling for Dragon Coins both in his shop and in the War Rewards chest in RavenLoss. These are some of the prettiest weapons we have in-game!
And the Hero's Heart Day event isn't all we're releasing this week! Geopetal is also planning on the next installation of the Earth Orb Saga!
Time to get back to work!

The ChaosWeaver war meter is within 3% of the goal! That means in the next hour or two, you should unlock the Boss battle! And then, oh then, you'll see what has transpired due to your choices in the war.
May the Elemental Lords have mercy on you. But! Thanks to some of your fellow heroes (even possibly yourself) mercy WAS shown in this war, and that may make all the difference in the future. But I won't spoil plans any more than that for now.
Go, fight, win! The hour is upon you, and you will not be found wanting! Not if you're the hero I think you are.
Some news about the war:
Here are the war rewards we have ready for you!
- ChaosWeaver Defender scythe series
- RavenLoss WarMonger scythe series
- The Equilibrium Gate Key scythe series
- And if you chose to defend the ChaosWeavers, you'll get access to the ChaosWeaver Champion shop and cutscene. (The shop contains the BabyWeaver pet!)
Unfortunately, we were not able to finish everything in time. So the following will NOT be released when you finish the war tonight:
- Pellow Village will NOT be ready to explore at the end of the War. We will work on that next week.
- The ??? pet will be found INSIDE Pellow Village, so you'll get that once you are able to explore.
- SoulWeaver class will NOT be unlocked for everyone because the SoulAlly cutscene is not ready. SoulWeaver testing for DragonLords will be left up in it's place. REALLY sorry about that! It should be ready in the next week or so.
We're really sorry about not having everything ready, but you guys just BLEW us away with how fast you did the war!
We ALSO have all previous years of Hero's Heart Day for you to play! So once you've beaten the war boss and sated your bloodlust, head on up to Falconreach and get your LOVE-GROOVE on! Deliver Snugglegrams, beat up a beating heart, meet Safiria, and help Ash get a girlfriend! What's the story for THIS year's Hero's Heart Day? You'll find out next Friday!
And don't forget about the Artix Entertainment Gametastic Game Challenge! For the past five days, most of the AE staff have been working on ten teams to get out TEN minigames for you to play! The challenge ended a half hour ago, and we are DONE!
Both Team Robot Unicorn (Rolith, Alina, Geopetal, and J6) as well as Team B055 Fight (Ghost and Artix) finished on time! Ai No Miko is working on the game pages now on the Game Challenge Portal site so that you can test them all!
And as a SPECIAL BONUS, J6 made 11 pets based on the characters in Team Robot Unicorn's game ("Gnome Man's Land") in AdventureQuest Worlds! Log in now and get yours! (I'm buying the airship. SQUEEEE!)

You are battling valiantly! But if you fight HARDER, you'll get shiny, shiny rewards from Tomix and True Mortal added into the War Chest!
How much harder do we have to fight, you ask? If you reach 35% on the Greed side by midnight Friday you'll get the Warmonger Crown helm. If you reach 60% on the ChaosWeaver side by midnight on Friday and the scythe will be yours!
And to whet your appetite a little more, here's a picture of the ChaosWeaver reward!
And for those of you wanting a picture of the Greed meter war challenge reward, here you go!
Here is a picture of the Ravenloss WarMonger and ChoasWeaver Defender scythes:
Happy battling! Get those rewards!

Impeccable coordination and uncanny timing are the hallmarks of the ChaosWeaver Nation's army. Each warrior faces forward, grim eyes fixed on the foe before him, gnarled hands tightly gripping sweat-slicked weapons and they steel themselves for another fight. And another fight.
Endless battles, each a small war unto itself. All parts of the whole, greater War for the Nation! Fear is not an option. The interlopers must be annihilated! Invaders, ruthless, destroying Homeland and People in the name of... what? Conquest? Glory? Helping a friend?
BAH! All those might be good reasons for a hero. But NOT for the ChaosWeaver Nation, a wounded people who are fighting to take back what was stolen from them. And take it back they will! Through force, through strength, by blood and steel.
Djissek, the time hasss come for djyou and djyour brethren in armsss to break away from the Army. Djyou vill lead a sssmall group- asss other Chosssen Onesss ill lead their own sssmall groupsss- and djyou vill ssseek out thisss Wheel and djyou will TAKE it and it vill become OURSSS! There vill be MANY groupsss sssearching. Ve mussst find it before the greedy Ssspirit!
Yesss, General. I underssstand. Ve vill not falter. Ve vill NOT FAIL!
Small groups, numbering no more than four or five soldiers, break away from the newly formed ChaosWeaver Convocation formed by ex-General Arrakksi. He is determined to see his Nation restored to Greatness and wielding Power. He must stay with his warriors, but he knows that the best, most able of his soldiers are on the path to Glory.
The ChaosWeaver Nation will rise.
The ChaosWeaver Nation will soar.
The ChaosWeaver Nation will rule!

A lone figure rushes through the almost empty streets, peering into buildings, tunneling through moldering piles of trash. Looking, looking... always searching for a goal, THE goal. The best, the only prize.
As he searches, he takes the time to corrupt the creatures of the village, be they spirit-like Embodiment, lowly sneevmole, or cannibalistic cave creepers and death widows. He grasps their heads in his dirty-yellow hands, brushing his fingers over their eyes, whispering softly to them. Entracing them. Converting them. Swaying them to his side, corrupting them as their souls slowly, irrevokably become his.
As he releases each creature, their eyes glaze over and a greedy, hungry rage fills them. And fear. Fear of failure, fear that they will find the Hero, the SoulWeaver, and the PrettyPretty Girl and NOT stop them from following their new Master. The figure flings them away from him, disgusted that he has to take time from searching in order to create stumbling blocks in his pursuers' paths. But he knows that they are the only things that lie between him and his enemies. So he takes the time. And he searches. Somewhere, surely, is his prize. He needs only to find it.
He is rushing through the streets, and muttering all the while:
Wheel so fine, so fine to grab, to take and hold; hold the prize, to grasp, so nice to grasp the wheel, so nice, so hungry the power that consumes; power so much, so much, so sweet; sweet power, pretty power, power that devours, dream your power, power your dreams...

Hi guys! It's MONDAY!
If you haven't heard what the Artix Entertainment game crew is doing this week, let me fill you in. We've got 9 teams ranging from 1-5 people per team and we have five, count'em FIVE, days in which to make NINE minigames! (That's roughly double the content AE puts out in a normal week!)
It should be an awesomely fun challenge! Most of the DragonFable staff are on one team: Rolith, geo, and I are all on Team Robot Unicorn along with J6 from AdventureQuest Worlds. So... what are we making?
A castle defense/DOTA style game set during the time of the Popsprocket War! It'll be gnomes (and robots) versus undead. Fun!!! Rolith is taking care of coding, J6 is on art, geo's helping with brainstorming and storyline, and I'm responsible for the storyline and PR.
Speaking of the storyline... Anyone up for making this all the Mysterious Gnome's fault?
Ghost is on Team BOSS FIGHT with Artix, Miltonius, and Leviathan (our newest business coder). But Team Robot Unicorn will triumph! GO ROBOT UNICORNS!
MORE COMING UP THIS WEEK!
Also this week, we've still got more war for you to finish! The ChaosWeaver Nation is being decimated, but do you have enough numbers to take them ALL down? Just how many of them ARE there? A "Nation" sounds like a LOT! But you can do it, we believe in you!
And don't forget to take down some of Greed's minions! There is a new set of monsters on the Greed side: the embodiments! Now, you might think those should be on the ChaosWeaver side, and that would make sense. Except that when Greed entered Pellow Village early, he got a head start on corrupting the creatures in the Village. And MANY of those creatures were Embodiments! The Greed-side monsters will randomly switch between embodiments and the regular minions starting today. This should keep the fighting fresh!
And you've got the 50% cutscene to look forward to, as well! I won't spoil what it's about, mostly becacuse the cutscene itself is spoiler-tastic. So if you want to know the answers to many of the questions that have been raised throughout this Saga... get that war meter to 50%! (It doesn't matter which one!)
We are racing to finish all the art and animation for the war. Will we beat YOU trying to beat US? I don't know! But we're certainly going to TRY! (As Artix would say: "Don't give up now, we're just about to win!")
But the Gametastic Challenge and the new Ravenloss war content are not all that we're releasing this week! On Friday, we'll also open up Big Daddy's Pad so that you can replay all the old Hero's Heart Day content. On Monday, February 14th, we'll release the HHD 2011 weapons set, and then on Friday, February 18th, we'll release THIS year's Hero's Heart Day content. Along with a shop full of VERY fun pets!

To war, heroes!
As you step out of the Gate and into Pellow Village, there is no sign of either Greed or the Greedling. Only the movements you see out of the corners of your eyes warns you before a phalanx of slavering and enraged monsters creeps, crawls, and floats into view.
To your left is a crowd of ChaosWeavers hungering to take you down. To your right is a corps of minions dying to stop you from discovering in which direction Greed has gone. (And die they will, if you choose them as your opponents.)
The choice of battlefield is yours, hero. Do you want to risk having a company of ChaosWeavers at your back while you search for Greed? Do you want to let Greed get further away while you take care of the enemies behind you? Or... do you feel sorry for the ChaosWeaver Nation, broken and hungering for a leader and a purpose?
Your options are as follows:
- Search for Greed as you fight your way through his mind-trapped minions
- Eradicate the ChaosWeavers hungering for your death as they swarm into Pellow Village
- Defend the ChaosWeavers and try to make recompense for the death of their Queen
There are two routes to the War Camp:
1) A button in the center of Falconreach
2) The quest map in Ravenloss town
All players will be able to fight in the war regardless of progress in the Ravenloss quest chain. However, the Pre-War cutscene, 50% cutscene, and Boss battle will only be viewable if you've completed the entire Ravenloss Saga.
Now on to more rewarding things, like... well... war rewards!
Rewards available this weekend:
- Ptolemy Sneevmole pet: this poor little guy helped Riadne while in captivity. Now he just wants a friend and to leave the dark, dank Undercity. Can you help him see the sun?
- Spider Queen set: these Poison weapons come in levels 45, 60, and 62 and are trophy weapons from slaying the ChaosWeaver's Queen.
- Energy Devourer set: Collect ChaosWeaver Baubles from the Catapault minigames and merge them in the Falconreach Defender's Rares shop for incredible Energy weapons in levels 28, 45, 60, and 62
Rewards available at the end of the war:
- ??? pet: We've got a surprise pet coming, but you'll have to hunt for it in Pellow Village once the war ends!
- Ravenloss WarMonger Scythe set: Made by merging quantities of Defender Medals
- Ravenloss Warrior Scythe (100)
- Ravenloss Captain Scythe (200)
- Ravenloss Major Scythe (300)
- Ravenloss Lt. Colonel Scythe (400)
- Ravenloss Colonel Scythe (500)
- Ravenloss Brig. General Scythe (600)
- Ravenloss Maj. General Scythe (700)
- Ravenloss Lt. General Scythe (800)
- Ravenloss General Scythe (900)
- Ravenloss WarMonger Scythe (1000)
- ChaosWeaver Defender set: Made by merging quantities of ChaosWeaver Runes
- ChaosWeaver Beggar Scythe (25)
- ChaosWeaver Artisan Scythe (50)
- ChaosWeaver Guard Scythe (75)
- ChaosWeaver Soldier Scythe (100)
- ChaosWeaver Noble Scythe (125)
- ChaosWeaver Acolyte Scythe (150)
- ChaosWeaver Communicant Scythe (175)
- ChaosWeaver Defender Scythe (200)
- An even MORE ??? pet: This pet can only be unlocked by viewing a cutscene which will only appear if you temper your rage and zeal to fight with mercy and compassion. There is no one true way, as fans of Lorian author Mercy-days Lackee know. What might be right for you is not right for another. This is a reward for looking at ALL sides of an argument.
- The 100% ??? rewards: Most of you can guess what these are, as they've been mentioned on the Design Notes, forums, and Twitter over the last year. But if you haven't guessed, we won't spoil the surprise!
- Pellow Village opens up for exploration! You might find an old friend or two there ready to sell you some merch. Explore the Village once it's been cleared of all enemies.
- SoulWeaver class will be fully released to ALL players once the war ends!
- Soul Allies will become available after viewing a cutscene once the war ends!
It's time to step onto the battlefield and battle fiends, no matter WHO you select as your opponent. So strap on your helms, tighten your belts, and raise your weapons high because it's time to charge into the fray!
BATTLE ON! For Ravenloss, Falconreach, and LORE!

The ENTIRE AE Team is taking a one week break from making games... TO MAKE GAMES!
Yes my friend, you read that right! Next week, starting on Monday we are having the 1st ever one-week-long AE Game Making Challenge! Sound crazy? ... well, then maybe you should join in too!
WHAT!? You are making 7+ new games next week?
The entire staff (everyone from AdventureQuest, DragonFable, EpicDuel, MechQuest, AdventureQuest worlds) will be forming into small teams of 2 to 3 people. Each team's goal is to create a new game in only 5 days. The rules are: Anything goes & make anything you want! So far there are 7 teams. The competition starts on Monday and ends Friday night... at which time we all get to play everyting that they make! If you can program or draw, you are hereby invited to create teams with other creative players and create games too!
How will the contest be judged?
You and the staff will both judge. We are going to post several polls on the forums which will rate the completed games in different categories (Overall, Fun, Graphics, Sound/Music.)
Is this a good idea?
100% YES. After doing the weekly releases every week, for so many years, the team needs to mix things up and get their creative juices flowing. That is something that all of the big games will benefit from in the following weeks. Also, it will be really interesting to watch and see what happens!
What will the games be like?
Everyone is making whatever they want... so your guess is as good as mine, LOL! But there is only one week to make the finished game so they will likely be mini-game sized or prototypes/alphas for larger game concepts. Teams can create their own artwork, sound, and engine from scratch or are free to use things thay have already made. The goal is to be as creative as possible and have fun, there are no rules... just games!
Can I watch?
We would love for you to watch and help us with ideas while we are working on the games! We are going to post a special design notes for all teams and we are going to periodically stream live video in AdventureQuest Worlds. (A sneak peek into the secret underground lab... about to be 3.14159% less secret.)
What about the normal Big Game releases?
This Friday (just like every week) we have exciting releases coming out for you. Next weekend the games will all be running their special Valentine's Day events. So this really was the perfect time to do this. The best part is... if all team are successful, you could get 7 new games to play next Friday too! Maybe we can add achievements for beating all of them to the Master Account?
AWESOME! I cannot wait!
Enjoy the releases this weekend. Starting Monday... we are making some games! (I cannot believe how much I am looking forward to this. It feels like Christmas.)

Stepping through the Gate is like walking through a waterfall; power slowly washes over you, coursing down your skin and soaking inside you, covering you in a thin layer of chill that vanishes with a POP, remisiscent of a bubble bursting, as you break through to the other side. Find yourself standing on the edge of an island in the middle of the Void. Welcome to Pellow Village, once a part of Ravenloss, but now ripped from the land it was formed in, left to float in isolation. Containing power and greed, hunger and ambition, trapping them in a place where they can do no harm. As long as the Gate stayed locked.
But all that has changed now. A lone figure hurries through the streets, pausing every now and then.
Mine mine mine, it will be MINE!
Here little undertog, hello lovely deathwidow, hellow ugly sneevmole. Come to me, here to me, feel me weave inside your mind. Remember the SoulWeaver, the Hero, and my pretty pretty oh so pretty girl. Remember them and keep them from following me!
Past the building, through the shadows, oh the shadows, deep dark shadows. On my way to destiny! On my way to immortality! No one will stop me, no one CAN stop me! The power will be mine!
The Hero is NOTHING. The SoulWeaver is a FOOL. Tainted by magic he does not understand. And more prey than predator. They are nothing to fear! And my little lovely one, she has turned against me. She would have stayed with me, she would have been mine all mine all mine, but now she is dead to me. I will take her to the Other Side and leave her there, where no one else can have her!
Aaaah, you are a funny creature! You feel like the spiders, but not. I do not have time to understand you. You will become my creature! Do you like the feel of me inside your mind? Can you feel the stirrings of greed inside you? Yesss? YESSSS? You will guard my back, too! ALL the creatures of Pellow Village will guard my back!
Down the street, around the corner. Evidence that the villagers went mad! Look into the eyes of the children. The ones who learned to be nothing aren't sad! I am the voice of reason! I am the power that will be! The Judgement Wheel will be mine, and Greed will become all that IS!
The ruins of old buildings line the streets, concrete corpses of a time long gone. Empty of life, no more than shells. The darkened windows resemble lifeless eyes, silently watching the streets. Creatures stalk the avenues and alleys of Pellow Village, eyes glazed over, entraced by the weavings Greed tied into their minds. Hungry to attack the enemies of their new Master.
This is the future of Lore if Greed reaches the Judgement Wheel and grasps the mantle of immortality. The fate of the world rests with you, hero!
