The Rosewood is now live! Explore the forest floor and see what you can find... or, if you're feeling brave, enter the huge, twisty Rose Tree and see what you can find. Cinquefoil, in Book 3 Surewould will give you your first quest, to find the journal of the magus in the Rosewood!
There are several hidden shops (and one, not-so-hidden) that hold new belts, new necklaces and new player suggestion weapons!
The Rose has been gaining strength all over Lore for years. While there are still a few places where magic is accepted... after the countless wars, dragon attacks, undead invasions, and more... most of the human citizens have accepted The Rose, with some even welcoming the chance to gain an advantage over magical beings.
Not everyone trusts the Rose, though. Even some within their own ranks. This week, Cinquefoil, will send you into the depths of the huge stronghold being built in the north of Surewood, the Rosewood. What books will you find? What confiscated weapons do the Rose keep locked up in their armory?
Cin knows who you are... but just who, exactly, is he?
Ateala Armors The quests to unlock the Ateala armors finally came out last Friday! Since you've been waiting so long for these, we wanted to get them out to you as soon as the quests were done! There are still some questions about how they should level up, though, that Tomix and I are discussing.
Right now, the skills for the armors are unlocked when you get the armor. The original intent is that the armors wouldn't be available until 40, then unlock skills every level until sometime in the 50s (depending on how many skills unlock and at which levels). Which could be painful, if you really want to use those armors at 40. Another option is to use the Paraginium you get from the Ateala random quests. We could also have you redo the armor quests to gain skills.
The armor unlocking will (most likely) eventually be moved to Book 3 Atrea (which is currently under siege) as well. (We won't get there for a bit though....)
Hero's Heart Day Wow, it's almost February! Which means everyone's favorite holiday is coming up (seriously, I know you guys loooovethis one)!
We've been feverishly planning what we'll do this year. A tea party with Sally? Dating Game with Zorbak? Having you painstakingly make love-o-grams and deliver them to all your favorite heroes across Lore? Explore the murky and dangerous dungeons of the Friend Zone with Ash?
Oooooor, we'll make this year's HHD event based on the real life shenanigans of Artix planning Rolith's bachelor party.
Ghost, Tomix, Oishii, Dracelix and True Mortal have all been working hard on new art for Chapter 3 in DragonFable! I wanted to give you guys a little run-down of what to expect when Chapter 3 finally goes live, since we're picking the story up a few years after your character was frozen in place outside of Oaklore.
The Chapter 3 map will start with only Oaklore and Sunbreeze Grove (and possibly Falconreach*) on it.
Oaklore... well, as an outpost of Swordhaven, it has been welcoming to The Rose and the Mana Hunters. So much so that Rolith, Captain of the Pactagonal Knights, has relinquished his command!
You, being so close to Oaklore, haven't had the luxury of legions of mages working to get you unfrozen. Warlic, at least, had the chance to start you thawing before he made his escape to his tower! To get inside Oaklore's gates, you'll have to be a little elusive about how much mana you actually use... and help the Knights fight the last of the warring elementals and magical creatures in the area that The Rose has been working to capture.
Mana Huntress by True Mortal
Falconreach is one of the few places in Lore where magic is still welcomed and, as such, is full to the brim of magical beings trying to find refuge. Even there, though, the cultists of The Rose rail against magic users and creatures. Falconreach and it's denizens still remember their hero though! Even after all the years you've been gone!
As Chapter 3 gets started, we'll soon expand towards Swordhaven... and the hidden wind elf resistance encampment on the way!
*Depending on how sick Rolith still is from the convention! D;
The end of Chapter 2 will see the beginning of the rise of The Rose. In the years* between the Chapter 2 finale and the beginning of Chapter 3, the face of Lore has changed. Some towns have fallen, new camps and towns have risen and Falconreach is waaaaay more crowded. A new kind of monster hunts in the woods... and they're hunting you and your dragon!
This means we'll have an entirely new map for one of the September releases! The Chapter 1 and 2 versions of Lore will still be available through the Book of Lore but, after creating a new character, you'll have your choice of seeing the original Intro, "A Hero is Bored", or a brand new, Chapter 3 intro (don't worry, you won't have to start a new character to see it)! Then, you'll once again find your way to the first two towns in the Chapter 3 map, Oaklore and Falconreach... but there will have been some changes during the years** you've been gone....
With The Rose gaining traction in Lore, even having the support of Alteon, which of your old friends (and enemies....) have joined its movement?
*Yep, years! **Yes, still a different timeline than the other games! ;)
As per player request, the Cluck, Cluck, MOOOOO quest has returned! If you have your titan dragon, just visit Cysero and see his quests to challenge him and his GIANT ChickenCow to a fight!
Chapter 2 Finale - The Merge! Verylrus is working on the stuck monster issue today, so hopefully Wargoth will be a little more cooperative this week! The delay does give Ghost time to make the cutscenes even more awesome too! With this quest, you guys will finally be able to get your hands on the Antipode weapons that Ghost made last spring as well!
The Rose This mysterious organization will play a huge role in Chapter 3... Tomix has made up several versions of its emblem!
