Mogloween Eve

It's Mogloween eve and Bubble's task is nearly complete. You have helped her fix nearly all of the problems created by you and the sister's over the years, but one remains. If you can stop it you'll have saved Mogloween, but fail and there won't be any treats for anyone.

Bubble Trouble

Greetings! The first week of Mogloween is here! After the events of this year's Hero's Heart Day, Bubble (the cat bubble that is) had the curse keeping her as a cat broken by an act of twue wuv...I mean true love. Now that Croft is set to return she is making her way back. Only time will tell if things will be just as fun as normal or if things will end in cat-astrophe!

Don't worry, if you missed the end of the HHD from this year there's a button to let you see the cutscene where she turns back to normal in the book this year.

We've still got 2 more weeks though, so who KNOWS what kind of trouble Bubble will get everyone into! Also, guess who is in charge of making masks this year?

Corundum Corruption

Greetings! Tonight we have the crossover quest between AdventureQuest, DragonFable, and MechQuest!

Warlic has summoned you to his tower over a matter of grave importance. Not only will you find out why he has been absent all this time, but you'll also discover more about Doom Weapons, the Shadowscythe, and what they planned (and could still be planning!) for Lore! Use the button in your Book of Lore to start the quest now!

I want to give a big thanks to The Hollow and Wyrm of the Adventure Quest team, Lyris on the MechQuest team, Tomix, Dracelix, and all the DF testers. All of them put in a lot of work either making the monsters, the rewards, one of the cutscenes (you'll be able to tell which Tomix did and which I did :P), and just overall putting up with me freaking out trying to get everything done for this. I wrote all 3 quests for this crossover, with some additions by Falerin for AQ's script and Geo, Verlyrus, and Melissa for the DF script, and everyone else pitched in to help me with art that I needed to build these or just things like the monsters and reward items. This couldn't have been done without them so make sure you thank them either on the forums or on Twitter because they all deserve a big thanks for making sure this worked out!

I put a lot of work into the quests from the story all the way to making sure the cutscenes worked like I wanted them to so I hope you all enjoy playing it.

As a smaller note, DoomKnight is now up for DA testing. Make sure to leave feedback in the proper thread.

Doom Arrives

Greetings! Doom has finally arrived and it's time to see what you all think of it!

First, the Doomcrawler from the T.A. Side Challenge at the Book 1 Necropolis has had a new section added. This is an all new setup of challenege mode fights that should put any class through its paces. The higher up on the list the more difficult it WILL get, but each "section" has its own rewards. You can tell which is which because they're grouped by two's. There's a total of 4 shops and each shop has something in it for all the different base classes.

If you like the original Crawler, don't worry! I left that one in so you can always attempt battles against it. Now though you have a true test of the revamped classes that will hopefully keep a few of you occupied for a while. I'm working on something else for the Crawler but it's not really ready yet so this will have to do for now.

Next we have the long awaited DoomKnight revamp. You'll find the skills are quite a bit different so please use the class in all sorts of situations and see how it works. You can't just Life Carve everything anymore, but all your skills now have a use and they all do something interesting!

Please keep all feedback and testing discusion in the appropriate thread. It's located here, CLICK ME! Once you've used the class in game some you can see the stats for it in that thread and figure out more combos, but I really want you to base any feedback off what you can do IN GAME. I can't stress that enough.

For a quick breakdown though I'll give you all this. The main focus of the class is the Corruption skill. It will alter how quite a few of your other skills work AND it provides a nice bonus against all types of enemies. This is primarially how you'll deal with bosses, as most normal mobs won't last outside of Spikes and/or Blood Rite, and will cause you to alter your playstyle some based on what it has done to your foe. Ideally most boss fights should start with you seeing what the enemy type is, considering what skills you have, how they'll be affected by corruption, and how you want to fight the boss. If you don't want to plan your battles out, you don't HAVE to, you still can skill spam and will do just fine, but for those that like planning out how your battles need to go to win the fastest or with the least damage taken, or how best to get around a bosses mechanics, this skill set will give you everything you need.

I hope you enjoy it! Verly is almost done with the bug fixes to Ranger so you should see that and its items live soon!

Lore Replicas

Greetings! Tonight we have a few small things while Tomix is finishing up the main release for this week. (It should be tomorrow so cross your fingers!)

First up is a new shop in the Book of Lore! (Clear your cache if you don't see it!) Most of these items are made by Zee, an artist from Adventure Quest. There are a couple more things coming this weekend to the shop, but I just ran out of time today to get them done. All of the weapons in the shop have a special of some sort so everyone should find something they like!

All of the DA items in the shop are available at a discount, and in 2 weeks when the shop leaves they'll be placed around the game where they fit at the full prices. The DC items will be going rare. I have another Doom Blade that Zee made though that will be added to the Doom Helm shop (which will get renamed to Doom Items) after this shop leaves in two weeks. The Doom Item shop is accessed from the Mysterious Stranger or the Mysterious Orb depending on where you are in the storyline.

Geo is doing some last minute work on the other part of tonight's release so you can hopefully expect that sooooon! Fishy Fishy!

DC Time Walking

Greetings!

I've got a question for those of you out there that like giving us feedback. The other A.E. games, like AQ, have items that go along with their secondary currency packages. Right now only the $5 and $10 DC packages have items. Would you like to see a time based armor for one of the higher up packages? We have a few ideas on things to do for all of the packages and we also know a lot of you are asking for a way to get a time based armor, so is this something you all would like to see?

Just so all of you know. These would be permanent additions so you could always get them. Over time we'd then add new options so you could choose which item from that DC tier that you want. The intent isn't to generate a bunch of rares, but to thank you for purchasing a package by giving you a item or class along with it. The main focus is still the DC's and supporting A.E., but the item would be a gift as a thank you.

Do you like that general idea and what other types of things would you like to see in something like that? Let us know on the forums!

Fourth of July

Happy early Fourth of July to everyone!

This year we've got an extra special amount of items for you! Just like I did for Mother's Day and the various updates I've done for other holiday's this past year, all of the past Fourth of July weapons and items are back! The Canada Day items are also included in this because our northern friends deserve some cool items as well!

I made new levels for any of the older ones that needed them so that they go all the way to the current level cap! I also updated the specials to be a bit more competitive with today's weapons. (5 DoT per turn is soooo 2009) If you still have one of the original weapons your special got updated as well, so if you're still in that level range and want to use them you can!

Along with the older weapons and items, Dracelix made a brand new scythe for this year! This also has an "on hit" type special which means it can go off on ANY attack, not just with the basic attack button. (Think how the Doom and Destiny weapons work or even the 4oJ weapons I just updated) This effect will nerf your foes bonus by a decent amount, but it does have a low activation rate to make up for the fact it can go off on any attack.

In addition to this, if you've finished the Tomix saga for Book 3, there's a new hair shop in book 3 Ravenloss! You'll have to find him as he's a bit out of the way, but he's got some interesting new hairstyle's for your character!

We also have a brand new section on the forums called DragonFable Announcements. Scakk and Melissa4Bella worked on getting this setup for us. This is where we can put things that might not be enough for a DN post, but are still things that you all should know about. This includes things like Known Bugs, Fixed Bugs, and even the proper way to report bugs. I even made an indepth and detailed FAQ post about the changes coming to DoomKnight as I've gotten PM's, and E-mails, and lots of @'s on Twitter about it. It's a good idea to check this new section every once in a while so that you know what's going on and can get more info than just what the DN's have. While you're there you could also sign up for the forums if you haven't already and join in on any discussion in the main General Discussion area!

Geo's a bit under the weather, and has been since yesterday, so the release we were going to do in addition to these isn't quite done. As soon as she's feeling better we'll make sure it's out! I don't want to spoil the surprise of it though! (I'm taking extra Vitamin C so I don't get sick!)

We hope you all have a great weekend! We'll be back next weekend with a fun new quest! (Nothing sad I promise!)

Bug Reports And You

Today we need to go over something important. It's so important I'm devoting a whole DN post about it because it needs to be covered. How to report a bug.

First off. Clear your Browser Cache! Flash uses a caching system. That means your computer saves old info so it loads things faster. If we rolled a fix to a bug and your cache still has the old info you WILL NOT get the fix! You should try and clear your cache at least once a month, but if you're reporting a bug clear your cache first, THEN try to get the bug to happen again. If it doesn't that means we most likely fixed it. If it does still happen then yes you should report it. To figure out how to clear the cache of the browser you're using a quick google search will show you how!

Now, if you've cleared your cache and the bug is still happening that's when you should report it.

Exp And A Curse That Never Was

Greetings! Just wanted to give you all a heads up on a couple of things.

First off, I've just updated the Exp Curve for Exp Needed to Next Level for 60-80. This means that it won't take as long to level up anymore at the higher levels. It'll still take a while, but this should hopefully make it less of a pain to do so. No, this does not mean the Level Cap is going up any time soon. I just wanted to make it less of a hassle as many of you were complaining it took far too long, and those complaints were justified.

Many of you were also expecting a curse after the loss of the last war. There was an issue getting it in place. The short version is the curse coding itself works, along with the temp item to remove it per login, and the coding to make it scale based on your level. However the coding to actually SHOW when it's working doesn't because of how the game was originally designed. Due to that I decided to not turn it on at all. While I could have turned it on at any point, it was not fair to do if you didn't KNOW it was happening. That, combined with the reaction to the other event that occured during the war (which honestly drew a lot bigger of a response than any of us thought...because for some reason the bread lady with no previous character development AT ALL was important to a lot of you), meant that it wasn't something I felt should happen. If it could have been made to work we would have, but I didn't want to release something that only worked halfway. We'll come up with something else for later wars and I'll keep working on other possible ways to show that things are affecting your character.

Summoning Destiny

Greetings! I'm back for gift number 2! If you check the Book of Lore you'll find a Birthday shop with two trinkets inside! These summon a simulacrum of the legendary Destiny Dragon, a being of great power who you may or may not have met before.

I worked for quite a while on getting these two done, but I'm not Tomix so if they don't look perfect that's why. I did my best though so I hope you like them!
